Why WYNKO?
As a student, I kept running into the same wall: I'd sit for hours, finally feel like a topic had clicked — and a few days later, it was gone. Not "rusty." Gone, like I'd never opened the book.
That sent me down a rabbit hole, and that's where I found Hermann Ebbinghaus. Back in 1885, this German psychologist ran an experiment on himself — memorizing meaningless syllables and testing his own recall over days and weeks. What he found became one of psychology's most replicated results: the forgetting curve. Without any reinforcement, memory doesn't decay in a straight line — it falls off a cliff almost immediately, then keeps fading, fast at first and slower later. Within a day, a huge chunk of what felt "learned" is already slipping.
But Ebbinghaus found the fix too: if you revisit that information at the right moments — not too early, not too late — each review flattens the curve a little more, and the memory sticks for longer each time. That's spaced repetition, and it's why WYNKO's tracker is built around 8 specific intervals (5m, 12h, +1d, +2d, +4d, +7d, +15d, +30d) instead of just "revise sometime."
Once I understood that, I couldn't just keep it to myself. I built WYNKO so any student — not just me — could get the benefit of this without having to track 8 intervals across dozens of topics by hand on paper. It does the scheduling, you just show up and tick the box.
If you ever forget to show up, that's covered too — connect Telegram or your email under Reminders, and WYNKO will nudge you when a revision is due, so a missed day doesn't quietly turn into a forgotten topic.
The name carries two meanings. M² is Memory Squared — the science of reinforcing what you learn until it's permanent. And M² is also Mom × Dad — both their names start with M. Every student carrying the weight of their family's expectations deserves a tool built with that same intention.
Everything on WYNKO is free. No paywalls. Built for the student in a tier-3 city with a phone and a dream, just as much as for anyone else.
This is early, built by one student, and it won't be perfect. If something's broken, confusing, or you think it could be better — I want to hear it, good or bad. Message the Telegram bot, drop a note on Reddit, or email founder@wynko.in. Criticism included — that's how this gets better.
